Powertrain and Performance
Every version of the Ascent is equipped with a 2.4-liter turbocharged Subaru BOXER® Engine. It's paired with an automatic CVT (continuously variable transmission) and a standard all-wheel-drive system for smooth acceleration and impeccable handling. This setup makes 260 horsepower with 277 pound-feet of torque.
Interior and Exterior Highlights
Inside the Subaru Ascent, you'll discover power-adjustable front seats. Heated and ventilated front seats are available to keep everyone comfortable, regardless of the temperature near St. John, IN. The higher trim levels get Nappa leather upholstery and a memory feature for the driver's seat. Every trim has transmission paddle shifters so that you can take direct control.

Trim Levels
- Base eight-passenger: Like all trims, the base model has a 2.4-liter turbocharged Subaru BOXER® four-cylinder engine and symmetrical all-wheel drive. It also comes with Subaru STARLINK® Multimedia and EyeSight® Driver-Assist Technology.
- Premium eight-passenger: This model builds off the Base trim and adds unique wheels, folding side mirrors with integrated turn signals, an eight-way power driver's seat and heated seats up front. It also offers a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot and Blind-Spot Detection.
- Premium seven-passenger: The seven-seat Premium gets captain's chairs for the 2nd-row passengers. Further additions include the all-weather package.
- Onyx Edition seven-passenger: This model gets 20-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, LED fog lights, StarTex® upholstery, and a heated steering wheel. What makes this one truly unique is its blacked-out appearance package.
- Limited eight-passenger: This trim level adds a memory feature for the driver's seat and outside mirrors. The 3rd-row passengers now get some USB charging ports. An integrated navigation system is now optional. This one also offers Subaru's Distraction-Mitigation System.
- Limited seven-passenger: This trim level is virtually identical to the Limited eight-passenger models, though with the captain's chairs for the second row.
- Onyx Edition Limited seven-passenger: This special trim level combines the Limited trims' features with the Onyx Edition's appearance and captain's chairs for the second-row passengers.
- Touring seven-passenger: This trim level is exceptional and offers the best of everything. Some highlights here include leather-trimmed upholstery, power-folding side mirrors, chrome exterior trim, ventilated front seats, and a premium Harman Kardon sound system.
